Rooster - Small Free Chart

Doesn't this rooster look like he might be proud of his colors? The example on the left above shows the colors as given on the chart but you might have fun adding additional colors, as shown in the example on the right.

The following chart shows a color key for three different embroidery floss brands for cross-stitch. These colors are only a suggestion and you could easily substitute other shades of the colors or alternate colors of your choice.

On the chart, I have indicated in color any areas that are a three-quarter stitch, with the symbol shown in color for that three-quarter stitch. If desired, you could define the edges of the rooster shape with an outline, using the back stitch.

This is a copyrighted pattern, created by Sandi Marshall, September 2008. You can help me to be able to continue designing new patterns by honoring copyright law regarding my patterns. In other words, do not republish my chart or images on another web page, blog or elsewhere. Do not distribute reproduced copies of this pattern, even for free.
Instead, you may give others the URL for this page so that they may come to this site for themselves. I appreciate that very much.

If you enjoy both crocheting and cross-stitch, you might enjoy trying out my Sunny Day Rooster Afghan Square pattern, using this chart for cross-stitch on a single crochet backgound. I've included directions to crochet a sun to add to a corner of the square and have included extra photos to make portions of the instructions clear and easy to do.
