Cross Stitched Example of Heart With Vines Design

As finishing touches for this cross stitch, which I worked on aida cloth, I went around each grape cluster with the darker purple color, using straight outline stitches (also called back stitches). This makes the clusters of grapes stand out a little more. I also defined the outside edge with straight outline stitches by going all the way around the heart on the outer edge with the darker green color. A little outlining can really make a difference in the overall finished look of a cross-stitched piece.

I have made my copyrighted chart for my Vineyard Heart design available to be printed out for free for your personal, non-commercial use. The chart can be printed from this page: Free Vineyard Heart Chart. The url for the chart page is http://charts-by-sandi.blogspot.com/2008/12/vineyard-heart-free-cross-stitch-chart.html

If you make something using my Vineyard Heart design (in cross stitch or in any other craft medium), I'd love to hear about it. There's a handy comments section below. If you post a photo somewhere on the Internet showing what you made using my design, it would be great if you would give the link to your photo page when you write your comment here. Please consider placing a link to my free chart on your page where you show the photo of the item that you made using my chart, so others can know where to find the chart too. Thanks! I appreciate it. ~ Sandi

Dear Sandi:
I googled your name after working with your patterns on About.com. What an incredible artist you are! I tripled the width of your 2nd version of the cabled scarf and created a shrug for my daughter. I can't give you my email on this site -- if you tell me how to do it, I can send you a picture. Thanks for all of your hard work. Sue
